Getting Ready for Easter

Here's my apron for the Sassy Apron Swap:
I don't think my partner has received it yet, but I hope she likes it!

Watermelon on a Hot Day

Hank discovered that overripe watermelons are as much fun to play with as any of his other toys.
In between weddings and birthday parties, I did some sewing this weekend:
A tote bag for a two-year-old

A clutch for me to take to a wedding-- made using Bend-the-Rules Sewing

Another tote bag, this one for someone older. (Not the greatest photo- it's been rainy for the past two days.) These fabric flowers that I'm putting on everything are so much fun to make. They only take about 10 minutes to put together, and they look really cute. Try one!

And, my new labels came on Saturday:

Back to School

Taking a week-long graduate class is really cramping my sewing and crafting style. While my class is very good, I missed being at home with Hank and my sewing machine today. Sigh. Four days to go...

It is HOT tonight, so I think I'll be having some of this for supper.

(Stoplight Salad from my favorite cookbook)

And ice cream for dessert.

Hank

Everyone should have a big yellow dog like this one:

After Hank's photo shoot, I finished a purse for a friend and did even more sewing for the craft show.

We saw the Hackensaw Boys last night at a local bar (smoke-free, thankfully). Excellent show- check them out if they are in your area.

New Baby!

No, not mine, but a good friend had a little girl recently, and since I'm pretty sure no one reads my blog yet, I can post what I sewed for her.
In case you can't tell, they are two burp cloths and a changing pad for the diaper bag. The changing pad actually started out as a burp cloth, but when I realized that it was way too big I just changed its purpose.

And just for fun, here's a picture of my assistant keeping me company in my sewing/laundry room:
